“Our son had experienced a variety of school settings by the time he started at Barlavento at the beginning of year 6, and we wish that he’d had the opportunity to join the school years earlier. It is a truly nurturing environment, with the children’s emotional wellbeing given as much consideration as their academic progress. For the first time our son has been happy to go to school and we as parents know that he is in an academic setting where he is truly ‘seen’ and able to realise his potential. Although in many ways we wish he could stay longer, his year at Barlavento has prepared him emotionally and academically for the transition to secondary school.”
