Olá! I’m Sofia and for the past 6 years I have been involved with education in various sectors, from environmental education centres and zoos to, more recently, Primary and Secondary schools. Even though I studied biology, I love to learn and teach languages. I’m very passionate about my own language, therefore I am going to do my best to teach Portuguese in a fun, creative, engaging and useful way!
I have always loved the arts and have been involved in projects such as theatre groups, musical bands, festival and music management and currently I am coordinating a world dance group in Lagos.
I have a dog named Yoda, who was found at one week old in the trash and was lucky enough to grow up in a school. He really LOVES people and was used in my previous school as an emotional support dog. I’m hoping I can bring him some time to meet the students and all the school community and make learning even more fun!
I’m very excited to join the Barlavento team and contribute to a positive, safe, inclusive and inspiring learning environment, where children will love to learn!
