I am delighted to take on the role of class teacher for Moonstone Class. I am an enthusiastic, kind and nurturing teacher and I love to work alongside children and help them achieve their best potential. I have been working with children for over 15 years first as a swimming teacher and then as a Primary School Teacher and more recently I set up my own business in the UK called TinyBeats which provides sensory, music, yoga and makaton classes to pre-school children.
Before completing my PGCE in Primary Education in 2011, I completed a degree in Physical Education with Outdoor Education. I then started my teaching career as a Class Teacher and Phonics Leader in both KS1 and KS2 in a UK primary school. I love to make learning fun through child led and interactive lessons. I will tailor work to the child’s needs so they enjoy learning and thrive. I have a passion for working with families and know the importance of a positive relationship between parents and their child’s teacher.
I love animals, especially my dog Rusty and enjoy exercising in my free time from running to playing Netball. I also have 3 boys of my own, who keep me busy in my spare time. The skills I have learnt since becoming a parent have helped me to grow and develop as an adult. I am a hardworking, conscientious and caring individual, and I am excited to thrive in a school setting again. I look forward to working alongside children, their families and being part of a team at Barlavento and to provide an exceptional education.
