I qualified as a Nursery Nurse (NNEB) in England over 30 years ago and since then I have worked in a variety of childcare settings. For many years I worked in Social Services in England supporting children from disadvantaged backgrounds, before taking time out to bring up my own children.
I returned to my career in mainstream schools in the UK before transferring to the more specialised Special Educational Needs (SEN) sector where I gained new skills and qualifications. Just before I moved to Portugal I fostered a number of children with emotional difficulties and challenging behaviour.
Now at Barlavento I am happy to be working with dedicated teaching staff to support pupils with their varying needs and enjoy every minute of it.
