I am pleased to introduce myself as the Agriculture and Forest School teacher for your child at Barlavento International Primary School. I am Italian but I have been living in Portugal for 5 years, where I obtained a PhD in Arts and Humanities on eco-theatre and communities.
As an artist and outdoor educator, I am interested in the connection between sustainability, creativity and artistic practices. I have lived in several ecovillages in Italy where I learnt various permaculture practices and how to recognise, protect and transform the gifts of the earth by creating natural cosmetics and other handmade natural products.
This year we will explore themes that connect the principles of farming to our sense of community and belonging to the planet. We will explore a variety of topics, from the basics of agriculture to creative approaches such as permaculture and forest school education practices.
My goal is to spark your child’s curiosity and creativity while giving them hands-on experience in understanding the natural world, such as connecting with Mother Nature in them and outside of them. I look forward to a year full of growth, creativity and learning together!
