Hello! My name is Charlotte Murphy, and I am absolutely thrilled to be part of the wonderful community at Barlavento International Primary School as Year 1/2 Coral Class teacher.
Before moving to Portugal, I lived in Birmingham, England, where I was teaching in a vibrant city school for the past ten years. During that time, I have had the privilege of working with children from a wide range of backgrounds and starting points, which has been both rewarding and inspiring.
Teaching is my passion, and I am dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and joyful environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential. In my previous role, I had the pleasure of leading Phonics, an area I deeply enjoy, and I love sharing my enthusiasm for reading both in the classroom and in my personal time.
Outside of teaching, I am currently learning Portuguese and enjoy performing in local amateur theatre, ballroom dancing, and spending time with my wonderful friends and family. I feel incredibly lucky to be joining the Barlavento family and am so excited for the year ahead.
